With 8 years in the Battery recycling Industry as an Approved Battery Treatment Operator (ABTO) and an Approved Battery Exporter (ABE) backed by over 30 years’ experience in the hazardous waste Industry in both commercial and operational roles we have a wealth of knowledge enabling us to deliver a comprehensive service which is both ethical and sustainable helping you get the most from your waste.
We aim to be the leading service provider for battery collection and recycling in the UK to be integral in building a sustainable future and circular economy.
We will achieve this by

In 2016 we opened a brand new licensed facility for processing Batteries and WEEE waste.
What we do….
AA Battery Recycling provide environmental consultancy and brokering services as well as specialised recycling of batteries and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), containing batteries.
With our extensive experience we are able to offer a full range of waste management services tailored to each of our customers individual requirements.
Our focus on battery recycling enables us to maximise the quality and quantity of equipment and components re-used and recycled.

Anne Bishop
Commercial Director
Anne is an experienced Commercial Manager, having held senior positions within a number of the UK’s largest hazardous waste companies over the last 30 years. With a background of successful management in Business Development, Customer Care, Contract Management, Marketing, and Procurement.
Anne is passionate about understanding and delivering customers’ needs and to provide a high level of customer care in-line with our business strategy.
Anne has input and influence over changes in legislation affecting the management of all types of waste, more recently specifically the proposed changes to the Battery Regulations, both individually and as a member of the Battery Recycling Forum.
Having worked closely with industry and major battery manufacturers, as well as a number of Battery compliance schemes, Anne has an invaluable insight into Battery recycling in the UK.
Andrew Waterhouse
Operations Director
Andy has over 25 years of operational and safety management experience within the waste management industry. He has a proven track record of developing and leading teams, successfully driving business improvement and achieving financial results.
As a qualified Health and safety professional, Andy is experienced in assessing workplace hazards, writing risk assessments and method statements and communicating safe practice to staff. He also has experience in writing permit applications, fire prevention plans, site condition reports and performing sensitive receptor studies.
A hands-on approach to leadership gives Andy an in depth understanding of battery types and chemistries, allowing AA Battery Recycling to negotiate preferential rates for recycling.
Kophyo Win
Technical Advisor
Kophyo is an IChemE chartered chemical engineer with a Masters degree in Advanced Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University. Kophyo has over 15 years experience in waste treatment processes, and holds industry-specific qualifications, WAMITAB COTC Level 4 and NEBOSH NGC.
Kophyo has been a key contributor to many successful process engineering projects from conceptual designs to installation and commissioning within the waste treatment, oil & gas and food production sectors .
Kophyo brings unique technical and engineering expertise to the AA Battery Recycling team to further the visions and goals of the company.
Daryl Lilley
Warehouse Manager
Daryl has been involved with the business since early 2017 and joined the management team in December 2018.
Daryl formally ran his own company with a background in groundworks, engineering, design and project delivery.
Daryl’s key focus is in delivering efficiencies to support business growth.
He brings a new dimension to the team with a practical approach to providing solutions on a day to day basis.
